PIANO & HARPSICHORD BUILDERS SPECIALIZING IN PIANO MAKING (DURATION: 3.5 YEARS)
Piano and harpsichord makers work in new construction and service, repair and tuning of upright and grand pianos. The profession of piano builder is based on the natural product wood. Therefore, the handling of this material has been placed at the center of the training. The main area of work lies in the manufacture of pegs and soundboards provided with string frames and strings. Installation of mechanics, keyboard and hammers as well as regulation, tuning and intonation. Setting up and maintaining tools and machines is also a focus.
